MSAN Conferences

A central feature to the work of the minority student achievement network is to build a national network of local communities of learners through the holding of meetings and conferences. By definition MSAN is a grouping of school districts from across the US that seeks to improve the achievement of students of color through learning about effective practices from research literature and from one another. It is MSAN's intent that the convening of representatives from member districts is designed to build a continuous stream of work. Unlike many national and state-wide "show & tell" conferences, MSAN is building a community of learners doing common work across our school districts. While conferences and meetings may include external speakers and presenters they are more appropriately thought of as team work sessions and team development for our member districts. This development model is served through thoughtful and purposeful convening of district representatives. This happens at a number of levels.
